Boliy Generators "Power in the middle of nowhere"

About Us

Hello, my name is Jim. I am the Boliy Guy. I am a full time RVer. I have been selling generators for two years now and I am a generator user myself. I understand the needs and wants of the RV community. I have used inexpensive (cheap) conventional generators - with very bad results. I switched to using the Kipor generator line about 2 years ago after my conventional generator surged and burned out my TV and Converter. It was an investment for me at the time, but it has paid off.
I switched to a Boliy generator for personal use about 2.5 years ago. I have always wanted to have the power to run everything from my rooftop A/C to my microwave, but I just couldn't manage the 130+ pounds of the big generators. When I heard that the Boliy could provide these power needs at only 70lbs, I jumped on it. I have been a happy Boliy user ever since then!
Below I have included some of my personal experiences using the Boliy:
**Update** 7/3/2007 - I received my Boliy today. I fired it up and ran a few tests on it. I was able to run my A/C (2160w startup - 1200w running) and my computer (200w) and my coffee pot (780w) - all at the same time! Without breaking a sweat! I should have turned on more! Impressive! It also ran my microwave (1800w startup - 1560w running) and A/C (1200w running) and computer (200w) at the same time – but struggled a little. Very, very impressive for this altitude! I did have to turn the eco throttle off to run the A/C, but that’s no big deal. I am at an elevation of 4000’. The generator is very quiet and I like the way it is built. I just can't get over the weight of this thing!
**Update** 7/6/2007 - I listened to the sound levels against my Kipor IG2600 which is a 2600w unit. The Boliy is actually quieter than my Kipor. All Boliy generators that we sell come 100% tested before they ship out.
**Update** 8/24/2007 - I was up in the mountains of Colorado on a fishing trip at 7500'. I tested the Boliy again with my A/C, computer and Converter and it worked great! I am impressed at the power of this unit!
**Update** 9/28/2007 - As I am writing this, I am sitting in a sandstorm in southern Utah. I have the air conditioner running (maybe not the best idea, but there is no way I am going to open up!), my computer system running, my satellite tv system running and I am charging the batteries. I have about 85 hours of run time on the generator and it has been working great!
**Update** 2/8/2008 - We had a great time at the Quartzsite RV Show. We had a 13500btu AC on hand for demonstration. There were quite a few interested people and a lot of happy customers. I am now back to dry camping using my Boliy generator. We will be selling custom made covers for the Boliy in the near future.
**Update** 4/25/2008 - We now have covers and high altitude jets available on our accessories page. I am back in Utah using my Boliy. I now have about 600 hours on my unit. I updated my unit to the latest 3rd generation generator at the show in Quartzsite. This has been a great unit for me. The only problem I have had is that I broke the pull cord. It was broken at the very end, so I just retied and wrapped it and I was good to go! Check out my new troubleshooting guide!
**Update** 5/1/2009 - OK. It has been a while since I added an update and I thought it was about time to write something! I have now logged about 1200 hours on my 3rd generation Boliy. It still runs great. So what problems have I had since day one? I have broken the pull cord twice - my fault. I had to make a slight adjustment on the fuel mixture on the carburetor. The on/off rocker switch went bad and the econo throttle switch went bad. These are covered under warranty so they were easily replaced. I did a little juggling until the parts showed up, so I was still able to use my generator. That's it! Am I happy with the unit? Yes! I rely heavily on my generator because I do a LOT of dry camping. I trust the Boliy to come through and start every time I need it!
**Update** 3/21/2010 - Well I have finally gotten around to adding another update. back in September I upgraded to the elctric start version of the Boliy. I was hesitant due to the added 8 lbs. I was worried that it would be to heavy. When I got the generator, I was pleasantly surprised! I didn't really notice the difference. As I have said before, I have to move this unit around all of the time. I have been very impressed with the way the electric start works. It is a push button. So I don't have to worry about losing another set of keys. The electric start is really nice to have and it works flawlessly. Even after sitting for six weeks, I can push the button and she goes!
